Birthday poem for my wife

No matter what we say or do,
The years since 1952
Continue to accumulate
With accelerated interest rate.
But this birthday's different from the rest:
The first one spent in the Northwest!
With new friends, new work, new terrain
And lots and lots and lots of rain.
However, we must not forget:
It's still God's Country when it's wet.
And where else can one so delight
At the appearance of direct sunlight?
But in all of this there's none so dear
As the woman who brought us here;
And no sun rays quite match the grace
Brought each of us in your smiling face.
