To My Wife (Making Cursillo)

You are my home,
My heart’s desire.
You bring me new strength
To raise my arms higher.
You lead me to challenge
And fill me with fire
As no other woman could do.

Of all of the paths
God has led me down,
The one to your door,
So far out of town,
Reveals a bronze throne
And a pair of jeweled crowns,
Wrought by the fairies from dew.

Here now at St Basil’s
You have confirmation
Of inherited royalty
Or a well-earned vacation.
May you know yourself better,
Find new inspiration
And remember my vast love for you.
